In the morning, visit the 'marble dream', the Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), a white monument to love, whose most fascinating feature is its impression of lightness despite its structural grandeur. Afternoon departure for Jaipur. First stop for a visit to Fatehpur Sikri, an abandoned city built by the greatest emperor of the Mughal dynasty, Akbar. Onward transfer to Jaipur for dinner and overnight stay.

JAIPUR
Full board. Jaipur, known as the 'Pink City', became the strongest city-state in Rajasthan around 1500. Jaipur, represents one of the most fascinating cities in North India. The decorations of its palaces are real stone lace, while the style of its buildings represents a happy syncretism between Rajasthani and Mughal architectural elements. Excursion on elephant back to Amber, a fortified citadel a few kilometres from Jaipur. Lunch in a local restaurant.
Return to Jaipur and stop at the amazing open-air Astronomical Observatory, the City Palace, the 'Palace of the Winds', beautiful facade inlaid with windows, through which the through which the sultan's women could watch without being seen.
